Creativity has always been my driving force. From planning memorable events to braiding hair, I’ve always sought ways to express myself through my hands and connect with others. My background in hospitality and tourism naturally led me to engage with people, but the deeper need to create has always been part of my essence.

Sewing became a natural progression of this passion. My Aunt Toi, a talented designer, has been a major influence in my life. She’s been designing clothing for as long as I can remember, and when we spent Christmas together in 2023, she shared her craft with me, teaching me the fundamentals of sewing. In just a few hours, I went from a novice to making my first pieces—a kimono for an upcoming vacation and a dress for New Year’s Eve—both of which ignited my love for creating custom designs.

My first major project? A custom fur coat for my birthday. From there, I was hooked. Whenever I had an idea for something special or unique, I didn’t look for it I made it myself. I crafted a custom dress for my 40th birthday, complete with a purse to match my shoes, and the compliments poured in. Friends, family, and even strangers starting asking, “Did you make that?” And that was the beginning of something that grew into Genevieve by Jennifer.

The name Genevieve holds special meaning for me. I was named after my father’s cousin, Genevieve, who, despite disliking the old-fashioned sound of her name, chose to go by Jennifer—hence my name. My father, however, always called me Genevieve, and I cherish that connection to him and our family. The name Genevieve by Jennifer is a tribute to my father, keeping his memory close, and serving as a reminder to always create with love and purpose.

What began as a personal hobby soon turned into a way to serve others. I’ve created custom pieces for friends and family–everything from clothing to baby items—always driven by the desire to create something one-of-a-kind. Now, I’m thrilled to bring that same dedication and care to you, designing pieces that reflect your unique style and vision.
